Food From the Bar

Since 1992, Contra Costa County Bar Association has sponsored an annual competition in the spring to raise food and money for the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano.

Law firms, solo practitioners and county legal offices compete to raise the most per capita and every dollar counts.

Since its inception, county attorneys have donated more than $1 million and over 54 tons of food, making CCCBA one of the Food Bank’s largest supporters.

Each year the drive is launched by a comedy night fondly referred to as Res Ipsa Jokuitur. Well-known comedians such as Will Durst regularly perform to a sold-out crowd. This event is one of the highlights of the year.

You can feed a child for $10/week, or $135 for the three months of summer when they do not receive school lunches. So $100,000 can feed 740 children all summer. This is our goal! Donate Today.

Join local law firms and members of our community in the 8th Annual 5K walk around downtown Walnut Creek. 100% of proceeds will directly benefit the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. Last year, we had over 70 participants from five firms and raised over $4,800. We have continued to streamline our joint Walk-A-Thon, and we think this year's Walk will be the best yet. We hope you can join us again this year!

If your firm is interested in participating, please designate a "Walk Coordinator" to handle logistics for your firm, and contact Catherine Lubbe no later than Friday, March 11, at or (925) 930-6600. All participants will need to complete the Registration Form.
