FUNDRAISING
IDEAS FOR
FOOD FROM THE BAR DRIVE
Participants
compete to raise the most per capita. Winners in each category
bask in the adoration of the crowd - and get a nifty award to display in
their office!
Internal Competition
Larger firms often divide into teams (by practice groups, school affiliation,
etc.) for friendly competition. Spur
competition with daily tallies, signs, etc.
Make friendly side bets. GREAT FOR BUILDING MORALE AND CAMARADERIE!
Outside Competition
Challenge another firm/office that you interact with. Swap frequent
tallies and publicize to stimulate participation. Spice up with
individual challenges between offices. (Base competition on per capita
contributions.)
Matching Contribution Challenges
Challenge match (e.g., Offer to give $10 for each partner who
donates $100).
Bake Sales
Sell
home-made baked goods. (Spread
out through Drive so not feast or famine.)
Most Food Items of the Day
Bring in as many food items as possible on a set day.
Winner gets a prize.
Mid-Week Casual Day
Pay
$5 to wear "Casual Friday" clothing mid-week.
Carnival Day
Ring toss (plastic rings & mini safety cones), pitching pennies
(glasses at different levels), washer & sandbag toss (through holes
in a board), bowling (plastic pins), ball toss (knock down food cans).
Players win tickets, prizes for top winners.
Carnival Food Sales
Corndogs,
nachos and drinks for sale during the carnival activities.
Root Beer Float
Sale
Make and sell Root Beer floats.
Flower Sale
Buy
flowers at a discount; sell at double the purchase price.
Send
out flyers to tenants in the building (“orders poured in”).
Guess the Weight
Canned
Food Pyramid: Stacked 70
cans.
Pay
$3 to guess total weight. Closest
wins a prize.
Drink Charges
Charge for office drinks that usually are complimentary.
Auctions

Items donate by
employees and family/friends.

Also solicit local
businesses to donate wine, gift certificates, gift baskets.

Some items put on
display with bid sheets, bidding kept open for several days.

Others as short-term
email auctions (e.g., 4 hours on wine).

Some quite valuable
items (e.g., autographed baseballs, game tickets, wine from private
cellars, gift baskets, CDs, homemade food, catered breakfast in office).

“One big draw was a
chance to dress the boss in a humiliating manner.”

Combine baseball
tickets (donated by season ticket holders) with game day off.
Potluck Lunch (entire office or by
Team)
Pick
a Theme (Mexican, Italian). Pay
$5-10 (price break if you bring in food).
Leftover Potluck Food Sale
Sell plates of homemade taco salad.
Creme Puff Eating Contest (super fun
event!!)

Contestants
vie to eat the most crème puffs in ONE MINUTE.

Display
cartoons
resembling contestants. Contestants
promote themselves around office, and decorated white T-shirts to wear
in contest (used names like “Puffinator”, “Puff Daddy”, “Power
Puff Girl”, “Death by Dessert”).

Use mini creme puffs
with chocolate syrup and whipped topping.

Contestants
are allowed to use fingers.

People bet on who
will win. Prizes given to
one person picked at random from those betting on first, second &
third place eater.
Typo Jar
Secretaries
pay $1.00 if attorney finds a typo.
Attorneys
pay $10.00 if secretary finds typo in their work.
Treasure Hunt
Participants pay to hunt for “treasures” hidden around office, using clues (written as
rhymes). Person finding most
treasures wins a prize.
Food Bank Fact Quiz/Information Hunt
Participants pay to enter and are given a quiz, instructed to use the Food
Bank's website to find the answers.
Top three with the most correct win a prize.
Personal Services
Employees who are massage therapists offer afternoon backrubs (auction
or open-ended depending on how many willing to do).
