Conservatorship Workshops

HOW TO ESTABLISH A CONSERVATORSHIP WORKSHOP
(OF THE PERSON LIMITED AND GENERAL)

This workshop is for self-represented litigants seeking to establish a conservatorship of the person in Contra Costa County.

This workshop is generally held on the first Monday of each month in the  Contra Costa County Public Law Library in Martinez - 1020 Ward Street, 1st Floor, Martinez, CA from 1:30pm- 3:00pm. Please see the CCCBA Community Events Calendar for current detailed information and attendance requirements.

  • Self-help assistance is available to provide information about the court process and the forms necessary to establish a limited or general conservatorship of the person.
  • Set-up on a first-come, first-served basis. You must be present during the first 15 minutes to register.
  • The volunteers cannot represent clients or take responsibility for your case. If legal advice or representation is necessary, contact the Contra Costa County Bar Association Lawyer Referral and Information Service at (925) 825-5700.

    This is a one-day workshop covering how to be a Conservator of an Estate or of a Person. Completion of this workshop is now required by the Court for persons appointed as conservators, except for professional fiduciaries (Local Court Rule 816). It is generally held once a month. Please see the CCCBA Community Events Calendar for current scheduled dates.  

    Advance sign-up is required. Please call the Contra Costa Law Library at (925) 646-2783 to sign up and obtain additional information regarding attendance requirements and location.
