Civil Litigation Procedure

If you are a pro per litigant (plaintiff or defendant) this clinic will provide you with an overview of the civil litigation process in Superior Court. Procedural steps starting from Summons and Complaint will be outlined in a flow chart, a Preparation for Trial Event and Action Item/Deadline summary will be provided, along with an explanation of the Computation of Time, and Discovery Before Trial Devices.

  • Held the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 10 am - 11 am in Room 222 at the Wakefield Taylor Courthouse, 725 Court St., Martinez.
  • Drop-in. Please arrive a few minutes early to register on-site.
  • You will not receive legal advice specifically related to your case at this clinic. The volunteers cannot represent clients or take responsibility for your case.
