CCCBA Education Outreach Program
We offer a popular Education Outreach Program to middle schools and high schools located in Contra Costa County to teach students, parents and educators how to navigate our legal system.
Some of the topics we cover in this program include:
- In-class presentations by attorney members on
- substantive areas of the law
- the nature of law and the U.S. Constitution
- the importance of jury duty
- Distribution and discussion of When You Turn 18: A Survival Guide for Teenagers (a publication funded by the Foundation of the State Bar of California)
- Distribution and discussion for parents and PTA’s of Kids & the Law: An A-Z Guide for Parents (a publication funded by the Foundation of the State Bar of California)
- Information about obtaining volunteer judges for Mock Trial Competitions
- Career Day presentations and distribution of other career-oriented materials
- General questions, publications, and other law-related educational assistance
