The Small Claims Legal Advisor offers recorded information and accepts messages at 925-646-6109 (or at 1-888-676-7277). Be prepared to write down the menu options. If you would like to speak with an advisor, follow the instructions, leave a detailed message and repeat your phone number. You may also email the advisor at smallclaims@contracosta.courts.ca.gov. 

A free 2 1/2 hour seminar, “How to Use the Small Claims Court,” is also offered. Suggestions on writing an effective demand letter; how to file and serve your small claims action; and how to present your case to the court are provided in the seminar. Questions are answered at each seminar. Judgment collection is not discussed. The seminars begin promptly. Please arrive on time. If you will be more than 5 minutes late, come on a different date or attend at a different location. The seminar schedule is:
