CCCBA is committed to providing valuable events, programs and legal resources to support members of our community as they navigate the legal system. 

Education Outreach Program

In order to inform students, parents, and educators about the always interesting, but often overwhelming, legal arena, the Contra Costa County Bar Association has launched a county-wide Education Outreach Program to middle and high schools. We are available to help with the following legal needs:  

q      In-class presentations by attorney members on substantive areas of the law

q      Distribution and discussion of When You Become 18 – A Survival Guide for Teenagers*

q      Distribution and discussion for parents and PTA’s of Kids & the Law – An A-Z  Guide*

q       In-class presentations on the nature of law and the U.S. Constitution  

q       In-class presentations on the importance of jury duty  

q       Information about obtaining volunteer judges for Mock Trial Competitions

q       Contacts for Superior Court and jail tours  - All court tour spots have been filled for the 2006-2007 academic year.  If you would like to schedule a tour for the 2007-2008 year, call (925) 370-2548.  Thank you.

q       Publications and annual scholarship competition for Law Day on May 1st

q       Career Day presentations and distribution of other career-oriented materials

q       Assistance with Richmond Youth Court program  

q       Youth voter registration  

q       General questions, publications, and other law-related educational assistance!
