CCCBA Education Outreach Program
We offer a popular Education Outreach Program to middle schools and high schools located in Contra Costa County to teach students, parents and educators how to navigate our legal system.
Some of the topics we cover in this program include:
- In-class presentations by attorney members on substantive areas of the law
- Distribution and discussion of When You Become 18—A Survival Guide for Teenagers (a publication funded by the Foundation of the State Bar of California)
- Distribution and discussion for parents and PTA’s of Kids & the Law—An A-Z Guide (a publication funded by the Foundation of the State Bar of California)
- In-class presentations on the nature of law and the U.S. Constitution
- In-class presentations on the importance of jury duty
- Information about obtaining volunteer judges for Mock Trial Competitions
- Contacts for Superior Court and jail tours
- Career Day presentations and distribution of other career-oriented materials
- General questions, publications, and other law-related educational assistance
