The Women's Section has been a strong presence in the Contra Costa County Bar Association for over 25 years. Its membership includes attorneys from all areas of practice who live and work in Contra Costa County. The goal of the section is to further the interests of women in the legal profession and the judiciary.  Men are welcomed to join.  This section is an affiliate of California Women Lawyers whose goal is to promote the rights and laws concerning women, children and diversity.

The section provides networking opportunities for its members to meet other attorneys and other professionals. The section hosts educational programs and brown bag lunches, some offering MCLE credit and others focusing on matters of more personal interest , such as job opportunities and rainmaking.

The Women's Section also annually awards the Honorable Patricia Herron  and Honorable Ellen James Scholarship to a deserving  law students who have shown leadership potential, have achieved success academically and who have helped to advance women's issues or diversity. The section hosts a scholarship fundraiser each spring and gratefully accepts donations to the Scholarship Fund. 

Board meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month. Members are invited to attend.

Annual dues are $25.00. Affiliate members are allowed.
