about the cccba
real estate

The Real Estate Section was founded in 1985 by, among others, Gil Berkeley (its first president) and Joe Starita (who succeeded Gil as president in 1986).

The Real Estate Section offers monthly breakfast MCLE programs that are free to section members beginning at 7:30 in the morning on the third Friday of each month, except July, August, and December. Most programs are open to  other members of the bar, as well as networking and activities related to the practice of real estate law..

The section is proud to make annual charitable contributions to various groups and interests, including the bar's Pro Bono Section.

Nearly each year,  the Contra Costa Lawyer devotes one full issue of the magazine to the presentation of real estate news and issues affecting the practice of law. The Real Estate Section regularly contributes to this issue.

Dues are currently $50, which covers the MCLE courses and related meals. Real Estate Brokers only may be affiliate members.
