about the cccba
Law Student

The CCCBA provides networking, internship and employment opportunities for students through its Student Section.  Of the 20 sections of the bar association, the Student Section is active in many of the sections providing volunteer support and as-needed assistance for CCCBA programs and events.  The Student Section is sponsored by the CCCBA and seeks student membership in the bar primarily from JFKU and Golden Gate University School of Law.  Student members of this section have access to information about internship and employment opportunities, as well as some of the benefits offered to attorney members, such as group insurance and membership discounts.

This section provides students with the chance to practice networking, interviewing and lawyering skills through volunteer opportunities at many of the bar-hosted events.  These events, such as the recent MCLE Spectacular, provide students exposure to current issues in the field of law.  Another program, Attorney Counseling Evenings (ACE), provides hands-on experience for students by working directly with an attorney in a consumer-oriented client setting.  This is particularly helpful, whereas in law school, students generally have access only to practice seminars that approximate real-life lawyering.

The Student Section offers its members opportunities to expand the law school experience in significant  and germane ways.  As future attorneys, this section provides students, and their future clients, a unique opportunity to acquires real-world experience that will be invaluable at graduation.

§         On-Line Career Center:  The CCCBA offers a free on-line career center that includes: a career agent, job search, resource center, the ability to post your resume, and employer contact lists

Section membership is $5.00*.  Affiliate membership is not allowed.

* Pro-ration does not apply.
