The Criminal Law Section is an active section of the Contra Costa County Bar Association. Regular
luncheon meetings with an emphasis on education and training are held at
various location in the county and include a wide variety of interesting
speakers. Additionally, the programs provide information specific to
practice in our Contra Costa County courts. The goal is to provide
information that can be of practical assistance to criminal defense
attorneys in motions and trail practice and case management.
Speakers include judges, attorneys and expert witnesses. All of
the programs offer MCLE credit.
There is a mentoring program for new members. The section regularly
sponsors an
issue of the Bar Association publication, the Contra Costa Lawyer, which gives the members a chance to
write articles and be published.
The section has officers and all members are eligible to run for vice chair and chair. The annual
dues are $25 for attorney members and affiliates. If you have any questions, contact the current chair,
Peter Johnson.
